With over 35 year experience designing and product installs for heavy industry and the defense sector, we used that knowledge in 2001 while working on the 383 sbc swap into our G body wagon, the Qjet just was not tunable enough. This lead us to start looking at EFI. We adopted Megasquirt during the 1st group buy and have used varations of it since. Once the wagon was done we were looking for another project which turned out to be a 1951 GMC. Which was started in 2004 as a frame up build. Initially we installed a well built 292 and were quickly disappointed with its thirst for fuel and lackluster performance. At the 2005 Hotrod Drag week we watched the 4200 powered 67 nova wagon rip off 8's runs and that did it. In 2006 we bought a '06 4200 and started getting into the 51. The immediate problem was what to do for an oil pan, initially we modified the original pan. Realizing the swap potential for the engine, we started to work on the rear sump oil pan. Thus Emtech was started.
